IMAGE SOURCING

Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto is celebrating 40 years in the industry and so a tribute magazine called "YXL" has been produced in his honor.

DESIGN

Yohji Yamamoto has a strong position in the fashion industry with his black avant-garde clothes. For 40 years he has stuck to his roots as "Rebel in black". His style is simple but powerful and he works a lot with Japanese fabrics and techniques. Throughout the magazine is a red thread that flows through from front to back and runs through the bottom of each page. This is to symbolize his hand-sewn creations. The red color also stands for the 40th anniversary which is symbolized by a ruby.
